In industrial production, hydraulic cylinders are like the heart of the human body, providing power for various equipment.The hydraulic oil, like the blood of the hydraulic cylinder, plays a vital role in the performance and lifetime of the hydraulic cylinder.So, how to choose the right hydraulic oil?
1. The selection method of hydraulic oil should follow the following steps:
First of all, we must select the matching hydraulic oil varieties according to the actual application scenarios and equipment types, such as metallurgical hydraulic oil, servo hydraulic oil, anti-combustion hydraulic oil, low temperature hydraulic oil, anti-wear hydraulic oil, synthetic hydraulic oil, etc.
Secondly, the choice of hydraulic oil viscosity is essential, and it needs to be determined in combination with the viscosity range recommended by the equipment manual and the actual working conditions.Low viscosity may cause equipment wear and leakage problems, and reduce volumetric efficiency, resulting in increased temperature; while high viscosity may make it difficult to absorb oil, increase energy consumption, and cause system heating and oil temperature to rise.When choosing the viscosity level of hydraulic oil, the type of pump must first be considered. Different types of hydraulic pumps (such as vane pumps, plunger pumps, and gear pumps) have different requirements for the viscosity of hydraulic oil.In addition, the working conditions of the pump need to be considered. For example, for hydraulic systems operating in a high temperature and high pressure environment, a higher viscosity hydraulic oil should be selected; and in a low temperature and low pressure environment, a lower viscosity hydraulic oil should be selected.
Finally, we must also pay attention to the cleanliness of hydraulic oil. With the progress of equipment technology, the requirements for the cleanliness of hydraulic oil are also constantly increasing.At present, ISO 4406 of the International Organization for Standardization and NAS 1638 of the United States National Aviation Standard are commonly used oil pollution (or oil cleanliness) classification methods. The lower the value, the higher the cleanliness.
2. The Replacement and maintenance of hydraulic oil
2.1 Regular replacement:
-Regular replacement of hydraulic oil can maintain the performance and life of the hydraulic cylinder of the test benches.
-The replacement cycle is generally 6-12 months, which is determined according to the working environment and working frequency.
2.2 Filter oil:
-Filter the oil regularly to remove impurities and maintain the performance of the hydraulic cylinder.
-The filtration accuracy is generally 10µm, which can be adjusted according to actual needs.
2.3 Check the quality of the oil:
-Regularly check the color, odor and transparency of the oil to ensure the quality of the oil.
-If there is any abnormality, replace the new hydraulic oil in time.
