Precautions for the operation of valve test bench

Precautions for the operation of Valve test bench

The valve test bench is an equipment used to test the performance of the valve. The following matters need to be paid attention to when using it.:

1. Before operation

Check the machine condition

  • Check whether the appearance of the valve test bench is damaged and whether the components ( The pipeline tubes fittings and connections) are firmly connected.

  • Confirm whether the instrument display is normal, such as pressure gauge, flow meter, etc.

  • Check the hydraulic system and pneumatic system if leakage.

  • Check the electrical system if normal and connected well

  • Check the hydraulic oil level if above the red limited line

  • Check the water tank if enough water

  • Check the air source for the air driven liquid booster pump is connected or not

Understand the parameters of the valves to be tested

  • Before performing a valve test, you need to fully understand the valve type, specifications, pressure rating and other parameters of the valve under test in order to correctly set the parameters of the test bench.

  • Check the valve size and pressure if match the test benches specification, Beyond specification testing is strictly forbidden.

Safety protection

  • Operators should wear corresponding protective devices, such as helmets, safety shoes, gloves, etc.

  • Set up obvious safety warning signs in the test area to prevent unrelated personnel from entering.

  • Don't stand on the front of the testing valves when the pressure is holding.

  • Protection shields are essential to protect workers from injury.

  • Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry while using revolving power tools. Tie back long hair or wear appropriate hair protection to prevent hair, clothing, or jewelry from being caught and pulled by clamping claws or cylinders in motion.

  2. In operation

Loading the valve correctly

  • Loading the valve correctly on the test bench to ensure that the connection is tight and there is no loosening.

  • Install according to the installation direction of the valve to avoid inaccurate test results caused by installation errors.

Slowly Pressure Increasing

  • During the pressure test, the pressure should be boosted slowly to avoid damage to the valve and the test bench caused by a sudden increase in pressure.

  • Operate in strict accordance with the boost speed specified in the test standard.

  • Pay attention to the pressure when increasing, pay attention to the electrical contact pressure gauges

  • Use emergency stop to stop the machine in case of any emergency

Observe closely

  • During the testing process, closely observe the sealing performance, operating performance and other indicators of the valve.

  • Pay attention to the display of the instrument, such as pressure, flow, etc., Once abnormal conditions are found, the test should be stopped immediately.

  • Prevent overpressure,Set the upper pressure limit of the test bench to prevent the pressure from exceeding the bearing capacity of the valve.

  • Install safety devices such as safety valves to ensure timely pressure relief in the event of overpressure.

Comply with operating procedures

  • Operate in strict accordance with the operating procedures of the valve test bench, and the test parameters and operating steps shall not be changed without authorization.

  • Do not leave the machine running unattended.

3. After the operation

  • Safe pressure relief

After the test is over, the pressure should be relieved slowly to avoid the sudden release of pressure causing damage to personnel and equipment.

Make sure the valve pressure is reduced to zero

  • Remove the valve

Carefully remove the valve after test to avoid damage to the valve and test bench( The pressure must be vent).

  • Record data

Record various data during the test, such as pressure, flow, sealing performance, etc., in order to evaluate the performance of the valve.

4. Cleaning and maintenance

  • Clean and maintain the valve test bench to keep the equipment in good condition.

  • Check whether each part is damaged, and if there is damage, it should be replaced in time.

  • Check the moving parts should be lubricated well

  • Check the oil level and water level line.
